Deadwood Little upstart churches throughout Canada are even now being stomped by dioceses, their lawyers and officials, for the crime of trying to be Anglican, without remaining tied to the moribund liberal carcass of what was once the faithful Anglican Church of Canada.

Word is getting out: church-chill is spreading across the land. There are only two types of Anglicans: survivors, and ecclesiastical ethnic cleansing victims.

It’s not going to get ugly– it’s there already. Ontario bishops in particular are all trying to out-Ingham one another.

Rowan Gets It, Kinda

It’s always fun to pick on bearded lefties like the present Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams. He recently said that the adoption of certain aspects of Sharia law in the UK “seems unavoidable”. For this, he’s receiving flak from many in the media.

The simple fact is: he’s unintentionally right.

The doc and I figured out this was stomach flu masking a painful diverticulosis (lower bowel infection) problems.  Some new meds, wifely care, and 4-5 days lying about being (more) whiny and imperious, and I’m feeling cautiously better than in the previous 6 weeks, praise be to our good Lord Jesus Christ, our strength in times of trial, our joy in times of blessing.

Fresh News.. the Magisterium willing and the crick don’t rise.. tomorrow or so. Lots of Advent/ Christmas goodness, videos, religious news, and way too much of it.

The Time Of Waffles Is Past

So the Anglican Church of Canada is the latest Anglican body to bend the knee to Gomorrah, and now fire rains down from heaven upon her. Primate Fred “Synod Rulez!” Hiltz, having signalled ‘Full Speed Ahead!’ to the radical dioceses and clergy (Ottawa, Montreal, Niagara, so far), will now roar and thunder about unity, obedience and Don’t-Have-Anything-To-Do-With-Conservatives Because They Aren’t Properly Authorized And Do Bad Things To Kittens. Ho-hum, Freddy. We called it, & We Told You So™, before the fact. Same manure, different day.

 

We are called to be cross-bearers and martyrs and saints. Conscience is a slippery beast, which is why it must live by humble love and feed on solid authoritative truth, and why we must remember and act on our first response, before self-preservation and group-power and soothing excuses act on us. We who are informed clergy are the worse, for having known something of the hellstorm breaking upon us, and not being willing to risk the gentlest breezes of martyrdom to speak to the sheep and to the misguided shepherds.

Some people have accused This Elf of doing web-news because I’m cranky and maladjusted (more than likely, but it’s God’s fault: he called me to this work)– but I also do it for the love of truth over lies in myself and the world and the church, and for the love of God’s dear and precious people, who even now are awakening to find themselves not at sherry party with cucumber sandwiches, but in no-man’s land with bullets whistling around their ears.

The Canadian Church and her leadership (by which any priest or deacon or bishop holds any authority) is now in open conflict with herself & her stated beliefs and principles, with classical catholic & Catholic Christianity, and with much of the Anglican world. Make no mistake: in one swell foop, CanAnglicans have outraced the fastest heretics and nutbars in the Anglican world. We’re the worst on record in all of Anglican history. We’re #1. We’re #1.

The war is on. The time of waffles is past.
